To Him that knoweth to do good.....

...the rest of the story!

Most of you have heard me tell the story of my "accident testimony" of how God spared my life in a horrific automobile accident 11 years ago. When I tell this story-I usually just tell the highlights, or the "big stuff". I often fail to mention the smallest details of how God has truly performed a miracle in my life! One of those small details is the miracle he performed concerning my vision.

Before my accident-I had only the slightest vision problem. I wore glasses due to being unable to see things at a distance. I just had a slight magnification in my lenses.
However, in the accident-my vision was severely damaged. A lot of glass got into my eyes as my head went through the sunroof. In addition-every time the car flipped and my head slammed the asphalt-further damage to my eyes occurred.

The day after my first surgery-an eye surgeon examined my eyes. I recall him asking me how many fingers he was holding up, but I couldn't tell. I was looking through what appeared to be a grey film.....I could see something, but could not describe it. After a few days I could see much more clearly, but I knew something was still wrong with my vision. After being discharged from the hospital-I went in to see the eye surgeon, and he told me that my vision had greatly recovered from the loss that occurred during the accident, but that my eyes contained scars that would cause me to need a stronger prescription. I would possibly have trouble seeing double at times-especially at night. Certainly, I was thankful for the improvement, and I certainly was not complaining! To me-this was a miracle in itself!

A few years later-I had another eye exam, and the Dr confirmed that I needed the glasses due to the scarring on my eyes, but that my vision was otherwise perfect. I had an astigmatism on my left eye, but the scarring in both eyes was the real issue. Still, I thanked God for the miracle of my vision after such a horrific accident.

But YESTERDAY-I went to get an eye exam, and the Dr. did a thorough examination....not once, but TWICE! Why? Because she could NO LONGER see ANY scarring on either of my eyes! Her report was that I have 20/20 vision in BOTH eyes. The astigmatism requires a slight prescription for my left eye for distance focusing, but nothing at all needed for my right eye. To me this is just greater evidence of the Miracle that I have received-down to the tiniest of details! To you-this may seem so insignificant, but to me-it is just more of a reason to let my life give God the greatest praise I could ever give! God is SO good!

And NOW you KNOW the REST of the story.......=)

Ain't God GOOD?!!!
